Dr. Curts and Dr. Reed founded Curts & Reed Optometry in 2018 to bring personalized eye care to their friends and neighbors in Olathe and greater Kansas City. Our eye doctors specialize in providing comprehensive eye exams and the best optical experience, with the right glasses and contact lenses for your whole family.

Dr. Johni Curts

Johni Curts, OD

Dr. Curts lives in Olathe with her husband. During her free time she enjoys reading, knitting, watching K-State and KC sports, theatre, eating ice cream and spending time with her family.  She is also addicted to Escape Rooms.

Dr. Curts is passionate about her profession. Wearing glasses since the second grade, she has a particular interest in myopia control for young children while understanding the importance vision plays in all her patients’ daily lives. She has practiced optometry since 2011 in Vermont and the Kansas City metro.

Dr. Curts graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2006 and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA in 2011. She is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control.

Dr. Darren Reed

Darren Reed, O.D.

Dr. Reed was born and raised in Garden City, Kansas and lives in Olathe with his wife and children. He loves to read, is an avid podcast listener, and enjoys playing and watching baseball and soccer with his kids.

Dr. Reed's mission is to deliver tailored medical treatment to preserve your vision for life and the best in glasses and contact lenses to meet your individual vision needs. He has lived and practiced optometry in Johnson County since 2010.

Dr. Reed earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology with College of Liberal Arts and Sciences honors from the University of Kansas in 2005 and a Doctorate of Optometry Magna cum Laude from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 2010. He is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
